The Value of Higher Education
Education is
extremely important to man as their future depends on it. One of the main
prerequisites of a good job is a college degree. If a candidate is not equipped
with a college degree, then they won’t get well paying, respectable jobs. Without
a degree a candidate will only get clerical jobs or jobs that involve menial
labour. Therefore, we can come to a conclusion that without a college degree
getting a job that will secure you future is impossible.

Higher Education in Developing Countries like Nigeria
In developing
countries like Nigeria, the education system suffers a great deal due to
political turmoil and weak infrastructure. Colleges do exist so that students
can carry on with their education but the colleges are not good enough and the
level of teaching is extremely substandard. It has been noticed that most
students pass out of school and join the small colleges or start working as
menial labourers. There are few students who can afford to go abroad to study
but they are just a handful. However, another very common trend noticed in
these developing countries is that more than half the students take up online
distance learning courses offered by renowned universities.
