Learning
and education are the most important aspects that decide the growth
and development of a country. In order to make progress a country
must always pay attention to the education of its citizens. But this
is an aspect that is often neglected in the developing and the third
world countries.
E-Learning |
In
the African countries and especially in Nigeria, many of the
universities are offering the online learning facility. The most
progress has been made by the foreign universities since they have
the adequate infrastructure for maintaining the process successfully.
These
courses are becoming popular among the Nigerian students since they
enable them to work while they study and get degrees that are
accredited all over the world. While earlier only the well-to-do
families could expect to have such degrees, now everybody can.
With
the rise in the price of the crude oil in the global oil market,
Nigeria is developing fast and many of the international companies
are opening their units there and as a result huge employment
opportunities will be created. In order to avail of these
opportunities, the youth need to train themselves accordingly.
This
is where the online learning comes into play. E-Learning
is making higher education attainable to all Nigerians through
distance
learning.
However,
a huge road block in the way of spreading education among the
Nigerian masses is the lack of infrastructure. The telecom sector in
Nigeria is not as highly developed as is required for the successful
running of the program. However, steps are being taken and results
are awaited.
